Foodbank SA is the largest hunger-relief agency in the state. Our core role is to source enough food for welfare groups to feed people in need. We work with more than 550 of these groups across South Australia.

Since opening in 2000, we’ve distributed more than eight million kilograms of food, providing about 2.2 million meals for marginalised people each year.

We couldn’t help people in those numbers without the support of our hundreds of food industry donors. But sometimes demand is so great that food companies simply can’t donate the quantities needed. So we raise money to buy food direct from manufacturers at low cost.

We are a not-for-profit organisation and we use every dollar donated to us to source food for South Australians in need.

Using Foodbank frees up welfare groups to focus their energy and resources on other aid programs, such as helping people to find work or accommodation.
